As construction progresses on the Chisholm Trail Parkway, plans call for work near the Trinity Trails. During construction, the trails will be open during normal operational hours (5 a.m.-10 p.m.). However, at night, when the trails are closed, there will be times when they are blocked so that crews can continue building CTP bridges.

A modern Central Fire Station was constructed in 1899 at the corner of Throckmorton and Eighth streets. It had three wagon bays, sleeping quarters upstairs, a bell tower and a 40-foot lookout tower allowing firefighters to watch for smoke anywhere in town.
